Indore heavy rains, record of 10 years broken

Due to heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh’s financial capital Indore on Saturday, life got disturbed. Roads became ponds due to water logging. Due to water logging in many areas including Khajrana, Nipania, MR 10, Bhanwarkuan, Regal, Madhumilan, Airport Road, there was a long jam on the roads.

On one side only water was visible on the roads and on the other side the traffic signals also responded. Because of this, a situation of long jam appeared on the roads.

Due to the rains in the city for the last two days, the water level of major ponds of the city including Yashwant Sagar, Bilawali, Sirpur has increased.  

In July, the 10-year record of rain was broken. According to the Meteorological Department, Indore has so far received 90 percent more rainfall than the average. So far this month, 414 ml of water has fallen. Earlier in July 2013, there was 565 mm rainfall in this month.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rains in the city even today. There is a possibility of heavy rain in the city for the next 2-3 days.
