IT service provider Wipro Ltd. has increased its focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company has announced that it will invest $ 1 billion, or about Rs 8,230 crore, in the field of artificial intelligence over the next three years.
ai360 AI Innovation Ecosystem Launched
The company has launched a new end-to-end AI innovation ecosystem named ai360 to advance Wipro’s AI, data and analytics capabilities and research and development, the company said in an exchange filing on Wednesday.
Training employees on AI capabilities
The company is also planning to train all its 2.5 lakh employees on AI technology and capabilities over the next 12 months. Wipro has given this information in the exchange filing.

Wipro Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thierry Delaporte said in a statement, ‘The objective is to empower our talent pool and be available everywhere across all our operations and processes as well as our solutions for customers.’
The company will employ 30,000 data analytics and AI experts across four global business areas including cloud services, cyber security, engineering and design.
