Union minister Nitin Gadkari’s office in Nagpur received three threatening calls on Saturday morning. Security at Gadkari’s office has been beefed up following the threat. Nagpur police is probing the matter.
According to the Nagpur Police, the landline number of the Public Relations Office of the Union Minister received the first call at 11:29 am, the second at 11:35 am and the third at 12:32 pm. The caller threatened to kill him in the name of Dawood. The threatener also demanded a ransom of Rs 100 crore.
Nagpur DCP Rahul Madane said that 3 phone calls were received. Details are being received and our crime branch will work on the CDR. An analysis is in progress. He said that security has also been increased at the venue of Minister Gadkari’s programme.
It is noteworthy that Nagpur is the parliamentary constituency of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. It is being told that Gadkari is currently in Nagpur only.
