Market Closing: Markets closed at record high, Buying in bank stocks, realty and IT sluggish

There has been a tremendous boom in the Indian markets today. Sensex and Nifty closed at record high. This is the fourth consecutive week when the markets have closed with a strong weekly.

Today’s rally was supported by banks and non-banking financial companies. Mild pressure was seen in IT sector and realty stocks. The market was supported by Reliance, HDFC and HDFC Bank while TCS and Infosys and Wipro pulled the market down.

The listing of IKIO Lighting also dominated the market today, it got listed with a premium of 37%. It reached Rs 427.50 in intraday and finally closed at Rs 404.50 per share with a gain of 3%.

The rise in Reliance and HDFC shares continued throughout the day. Bulk deals were seen happening in HDFC, due to which the stock gained strength. Shares of insurance companies HDFC Life, SBI Life and LIC also gained momentum. Along with this, Bank Nifty and FMCG also gained momentum. In the last one hour, the markets closed with a strong boom.

Sensex crossed 63,500

The Sensex started flat at 62,961. The pace started in the first half which continued in the second half as well. Meanwhile, the Sensex crossed the level of 63,500 in intraday and reached the level of 63,520 close to its all-time high of 63,587. By the close of trading, the Sensex climbed 0.74% or 467 points to close at 63,385. There was buying in 25 of its shares and selling in 5.

Nifty crosses 18,800

Nifty started at 18,723. In the second half, the Nifty all-time high reached the level of 18,865 close to the level of 18,887.5. By the close of trading, the Nifty climbed 0.74% or 138 points to close at 18,826. There was buying in 38 shares and selling in 12.

Shopping in all sectors

On the last day of the trading week, all the sectors closed with a boom. Along with the financial sector, there was also a boom in media and FMCG. Nifty Bank climbed 1.14%. Private Bank closed up by 1.29% and PSU Bank by 1.46%. Media gained 1.08%. Realty and IT broke. Realty closed down by 0.38% and IT by 0.21%.

BUYING IN MIDCAPS, SMALL CAPS

Midcap gained 0.82% and there was buying in 35 shares. Whereas, Smallcap gained 1.02% and bought 33 shares.

How was the business overall?

There was buying of 2,122 shares and selling of 1,412 on BSE Sensex. There, there was no change in 121 stocks.
