Police investigation is going on in the capital’s Kanjhawala death case. Meanwhile, FSL Rohini handed over the blood sample report of the accused to the Delhi Police, from which it would be known whether they had consumed alcohol that night or not. FSL has also handed over the crime scene report to the police. FSL will submit the viscera report of the deceased by 5 pm today.

At the same time, 11 policemen have been suspended for negligence. There are 2 Sub Inspector, 4 Assistant Sub Inspector, 4 Head Constable and 1 Constable. Out of the suspended policemen, 6 were posted on PCR duty and 5 policemen were posted on picket. Special CP Shalini Singh had found him guilty in his investigation report.

A senior police officer said, “After approval by the competent authority, 11 policemen posted on the route have been suspended in view of the incident that took place on January 1.” 20-year-old Anjali died after being dragged for 12 kilometers by the car.

The Union Home Ministry took action against several local police officers after taking cognizance of a detailed report submitted by Delhi Police Special Commissioner Shalini Singh on the gruesome death of Anjali Singh in outer Delhi in the early hours of January 1, sources said on Thursday.

Apart from suspending and taking disciplinary action against the staff of three PCR vans and two pickets, the ministry also issued several directions against the accused in the sensational hit-and-run drunken case, including the charge of murder under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

The ministry has sought an explanation from the DCP of the area on the security situation on the day of the incident and asked to take action regarding negligence. It is also directed that the charge sheet against the accused along with all the necessary evidence should be filed expeditiously so that they can be punished severely. It has also asked the Delhi Police to ensure proper lighting at the spot as well as its surrounding areas.
