The five accused, who dragged a 20-year-old woman for nearly 12 km with their car in outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala area within hours of the start of the new year, knew that someone was inside their car after their car collided with a scooty. Got stuck, but they didn’t stop. Her friend, who was present with the deceased Anjali Singh at the time of the accident, has claimed this. When asked why she didn’t immediately inform anyone about the accident, Saheli says, “I was scared so I didn’t tell anyone.”

According to the police, the girl was the sole breadwinner in her family. On the night of 31 December, her scooty collided with a car and she got trapped under the car. He was dragged for about 12 kilometers and his body was found naked on a road in Kanjhawala. The woman, a resident of Sultanpuri, worked ‘part-time’ in an event management company and had gone to work on New Year’s Eve when the incident happened. Five people allegedly traveling in the car were booked on Monday under sections including culpable homicide not amounting to murder. However, the police were also accused of conducting a ‘flaky investigation’ in the case. The five accused were sent to police custody for three days on Monday.

Anjali’s friend told reporters on Tuesday, “The brown colored Baleno hit the scooty from the opposite direction. She fell in front of the car while I fell beside. They drove the car over him. They knew he was under the car, but they didn’t stop. She was crying. They deliberately killed her.” The friend said, “I ran away from the spot because I was scared and did not know what to do.” Anjali’s friend said that they had gone there on Saturday night. Had gone to a hotel to meet her friends. He claimed, Anjali was under the influence of alcohol and threatened to jump off the two-wheeler if she was not allowed to ride the scooty. The victim’s friend claimed, “We left the hotel late at around 1:45 am. She (Anjali) wanted to drive the scooty, but I said I will drive. When we left from there and were on the way, Anjali said that if she was not allowed to drive the scooty, she would jump off the moving two-wheeler. She said that this is my scooty and I will drive it.

He claimed, “I let him drive the scooty. After walking some distance, we narrowly avoided hitting the truck. Although I was sitting behind, but still managed to apply brakes. Then we left from there and moved on. But another car hit our scooty. Anjali got trapped under the car, while I fell on the other side of the road.” The victim’s friend told that she also suffered minor injuries on her eyes but Anjali got trapped under the car. The victim’s friend claimed, “The car did not stop. She kept going and then she backed the car and then went ahead fast. ,
