From March 1, the burden of inflation on the pockets of common people is going to increase further. There has been an increase in the prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders (LPG Price Hike). If we look at the last 2 years, the prices of cylinders have increased by about Rs.400.
The people, who are already facing the brunt of inflation, may have to face some more trouble due to the increased prices. In all the big cities of the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, the increased prices will be applicable from today itself.
How much did the prices increase?
The price of 14.2 kg domestic cooking gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 50. The price of domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased to Rs 1103. Along with this, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 350.50. With this increase, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder in Delhi has gone up to Rs 2119.50. The new prices will be applicable from today.
The increase of Rs 350 in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders is the second biggest increase so far in one go. Before this, only once in 2014, the price of commercial cylinders had increased by more than Rs 350.
409 increase in last 2 years
There has been an increase of Rs 409 in the price of a cylinder in the last 2 years in India. In March 2021, the price of an LPG cylinder was Rs 694, which has become Rs 1103 after about 2 years and 2 months.
With the increase in the prices of cylinders, the opposition is also attacking the government. Shiv Sena UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi taunted the government. He tweeted that “Domestic LPG cylinder has become costlier by Rs 50 and commercial by Rs 350. Happy Holi to the countrymen from the government! Happy Holi!”
