Cyclone Biparjoy Alert Today in Gujarat: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for the coastal areas of Gujarat in view of the cyclonic storm Biparjoy. According to the forecast of IMD, today on June 15, it may hit the Jakhau port of Gujarat between Mandvi (Gujarat) and Karachi (Pakistan).

In view of the possibility of heavy destruction in Gujarat, apart from NDRF, SDRF and local police administration, the Indian Army is also deployed. The Gujarat government has said that around 75,000 people from 8 districts have been shifted to safer places. The effect of the storm is also being seen in Mumbai.

Heavy rain likely to flood

Strong winds can blow at a speed of 125 to 135 km during Biparjoy storm. Its speed can also go up to 150 kilometers per hour. IMD has expressed the possibility of strong thunderstorms and heavy rains due to Biparjoy storm. There is also a possibility of flooding due to heavy rains in the low-lying areas of Kutch, Porbandar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar and Morbi in Gujarat.

Somnath and Dwarkadhish temples closed

Temples and other public places in the coastal areas have been temporarily closed in view of the possibility of devastation from Cyclone Biparjoy. Two of Gujarat’s most famous temples, the Dwarkadhish temple in Devbhoomi Dwarka and the Somnath temple in Gir Somnath district, will remain closed for devotees on Thursday.

All arrangements at the shelter for 75,000 people

The Gujarat government has said that a total of 74,345 people have been shifted to temporary shelters in 8 coastal districts. Arrangements have been made for living, food, medicines and other needs at the shelter.

According to a government release, around 34,300 people have been evacuated to safer places in Kutch district, 10,000 in Jamnagar, 9,243 in Morbi, 6,089 in Rajkot, 5,035 in Devbhoomi Dwarka, 4,604 in Junagadh, 3,469 in Porbandar district and 1,605 in Gir Somnath district. has been moved.

Railway canceled 76 trains

As a precaution, Railways has canceled about 76 trains, 36 trains will be stopped before their destination, while 31 trains have been diverted. Western Railway said in a statement released on Wednesday that due to the cyclone, trains have been canceled keeping in mind the safety of the passengers. Some trains have been partially cancelled.

Defense Minister spoke to the army chiefs

Regarding Cyclone Biparjoy, 15 teams of NDRF, 12 of SDRF, 115 of State Road and Building Department and 397 teams of Electricity Department have been deployed in various coastal districts in Gujarat. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to the three army chiefs on Wednesday and reviewed the preparedness of the armed forces to deal with the effects of Biparjoy and instructed to take all necessary steps.
