Collision between two trains in Greece, 26 killed, 85 injured

A major train accident has taken place in Greece, where 26 people have died and about 85 people have been injured in a fierce collision between two trains. It is being told that more than 350 people were aboard the train. The accident was so tremendous that no one even came to know what happened in one stroke. The condition of 25 of the injured is critical and they have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

At present, the injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals, the condition of some people is said to be serious, the death toll may increase further.

It is being told that this passenger train was going from Athens towards the northern city of Thessaloniki, while another goods train was coming from Thessaloniki towards Larissa. Several coaches derailed after the strong collision and at least three caught fire.

There was a face-to-face collision between these two and this accident happened in the blink of an eye, the sound of people’s screams was heard all around. With the help of the people around, the administration started the rescue and even now the rescue work is going on.
