The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has called Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for questioning, nearly 3 months after filing a chargesheet in the Delhi Excise Policy case.

Officials said that Sisodia has been called for questioning on Sunday, he has not been made an accused in the charge sheet.

Arrested businessmen Vijay Nair and Abhishek Boinapalli are among the seven accused named in the charge sheet. It is alleged that the Delhi government’s policy of granting licenses to liquor traders benefitted some dealers who allegedly paid bribes for the same. You vehemently denied this allegation.

“It is also alleged that irregularities were committed, including modification of excise policy, undue favor to licensees, waiver of license fee, extension of L-1 license without approval, etc.,” a CBI spokesperson said.

It is also alleged that the illegal gains from these acts were passed on to the concerned public servants by the private parties by making wrong entries in their books of accounts.
