The Haryana Police is probing a complaint by the mother of an accused in the abduction and murder of two people by cow vigilantes who claimed that her pregnant daughter-in-law was assaulted by Rajasthan police personnel who came to conduct the raid, leading to her miscarriage.
Dulari Devi, mother of Shrikant Pandit, a cow protection group member led by Monu Manesar, has alleged that the police forcibly took away her two sons. Rajasthan Police has named 5 people in this case allegedly related to Bajrang Dal. Monu and Pandit are among the four accused in the case of kidnapping of two people allegedly from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, whose charred bodies were found in Haryana’s Bhiwani on Thursday.
Nuh Superintendent of Police Varun Singla said that Dulari Devi’s complaint has been received and the matter is being investigated. Devi has alleged that her family members, including women, were manhandled on Friday morning by a Rajasthan police team. The complaint alleged that around 40 personnel of the Rajasthan Police forcibly entered the house and started asking about Srikanth.
The woman claimed that they thrashed me and the son’s pregnant wife Kamlesh when I told them that my son was not at home. They abused and took my 2 sons Vishnu and Rahul with them. We still do not know where he has been taken.
Devi said that her daughter-in-law’s pregnancy was nine months old. He said that the police personnel kicked Srikanth’s wife in the stomach, which caused her stomach pain. She was admitted to Mandi Kheda hospital from where she was referred to Nalhar Medical College where the stillborn child was born. The woman claimed that her daughter-in-law was still hospitalized in critical condition.
Dulari demanded that both my sons Vishnu and Rahul be recovered and strict action be taken against the culprits. Keeping the identity secret, a senior police officer said that the newborn was buried without post-mortem. In this situation, first investigation is needed.
It is noteworthy that the burnt bodies of Naseer (25) and Junaid (35), residents of Ghatmika village of Pahari tehsil in Bharatpur district, were found in a burnt vehicle at Loharu in Bhiwani on Thursday. Both of them were allegedly abducted on Wednesday. The Rajasthan Police has arrested one of the five named on the complaint lodged by the family members.
