A Kolkata-bound Air Asia passenger flight had to make an emergency landing on Sunday after a bird hit the runway at Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport.
Airport spokesman Rupesh Kumar said on Sunday that the pilot of the Air Asia flight canceled the flight after a bird hit on the runway at around 11 am today. This happened before the plane took off. The aircraft was brought to a halt on the runway and all passengers were safely evacuated.
Kumar said that there were about 180 passengers on board for whom alternate arrangements have been made by the airlines.
